Model # 9R-72M<br />Serial# J3574386<br /><br />I just bought this motor. It seems to run hot.<br />How much water should come from the upper exhaust. A little comes out and some steam. This after only about one minute of running in the barrel. It runs good just seems to be getting too hot. <br />Thanks,<br />Fitz.

Water should be blasting out that outlet. Install a complete water pump kit, not just an impeller, and also install a new thermostat.

Mr. Fitz you can git that pump at the napa auto parts store . i git them all the time . we are in the same town ,

if u just bought the motor it is a good idea to get a good service schedule started. i would do water pump,thermostat,plugs, points and condencers also inspect the coils and change the low unit gear oil and the seals on both the drain and fill plugs.
