I'm working on this 9.9 johnson but the shaft is pitted right where the seals land, and when I install the new seals installing them either past or ahead of the old seals wouldn't work because the shaft is pitted in different spots, I know the best bet should be get a newer shaft,in better shape. But what do you guys do in this situation, guess I could weld the pitting with stainless, but what about jb weld. Need help

ive heard of people using jb weld.
You can also use a speedisleeve if the splines arent more wider than the shaft.
You can also have it turned down a bit to a size where you get a different seal with a smaller ID
Im putting a speedisleeve on my cars driveshaft flange at present, the engineering shop will gave me new sleeve for $30 and the same seal can be used since the sleeve is so thin the od is almost the same as previously
