Now that the carbs on my motor are clean I still have trouble starting the engine. It will run for about 5 sec then cut off. This will repeat it self about 5 to 6 times before the engine will keep running. Reeldutch said to me something about my tstats remaining open.. What are tstats ???<br />Reeldutch are you still online ?? HELP

What year or model number is your engine, Kevin?<br /><br />Imperfect carb cleaning causes many problems, but I think your engine is running out of fuel or it needs additional priming/choking. <br /><br />You may have a failing fuel pump, too.<br /><br />Good luck.

the fuel pump works fine. I have also recleand the carbs today but this does not solve the problem

How are you cleaning them? Anything less than pulling them and soaking them, is not 100%.

I got myself a carb cleaner. This is a spraycan under very high pressure. I put the nozzel on all the injecters and pump them clean. Is this enough or should i do this with compressed air

what starting procedure do you use?<br /><br />make shure bulp is nice and firm<br />put key in on position.<br />press the key in while holding it in turn to start.<br />release key when engene fires and when it stalls press key in for activating primer<br /><br />tell us how you do it.

When cleaning carbs you need to thoroughly blow them out with high pressure air from an air compressor. The spray can does not cut it.
