Re: JOHNSON BOAT MOTOR

Many companies made Sea King which was sold by Mongomery Wards. Among the makers was Gale which was an OMC company like Johnson and Evinrude. Many parts of those Sea Kings are the same used in Johnson and Evinrude outboards. If you can give a model number, I can tell you the year, horsepower, and manufacturer. I can probably also tell you where you can get parts and what may or may not be available.

Re: JOHNSON BOAT MOTOR

GG makes it a Gale. 1963 15Hp.

32:1 gas:eek:il ratio (4oz/gal)
J4C or J6C Champion .030 gap
points gap .020

It's kind of an oddball size. Between Johnnyrude 9-1/2 and 18. I'm not sure what is going to be available for the powerhead or gearcase. Magneto parts are no problem (points, condensers, coils). The closest I can come is a 1956 Johnson FD-10 or Evinrude 15017. Gale might have used many of the same internals from those models. Gale typically cast their own blocks and midsections and used Johnnyrude internals and gearcases. They were also a little behind in years of Johnnyrude development-wise. They were basically generic Johnnyrudes. You can get common tune-up parts from Johnson/Evinrude dealers and many right here on iboats. Major internal parts are going to be a problem.
