Thanks to all the help I received here the motor is now back together and running just fine. Thank you!!

Couple of questions: When I got it running all I had for gas was 50:1 Chainsaw gas. My understanding is that this motor requires 24:1 Does that mean that I need to put more gas in the tank and mix it, or more oil? I have about 2 gallons in the tank now. It's probably a dumb question to most...I just don't want to get this wrong.

Also I can not seem to raise (tilt) the motor. I put the thumb lever in 'Release" mode, but still I can't tilt the motor. I see that there is a bar that sticks out from the left side that has three "slots" to sit in, but I can't raise the bar with my hand.... a lot of pressure on it.
Any help would sure be appreciated...Thanks!!
P.S. I LOVE this board!!!

The ratio is 24:1, which means 24 parts gas to 1 part oil. Don't use chainsaw oil, use TWC III marine oil. Lay the motor on it's back, on a bench, so you can get at the tilt mechanism. Maybe it's just rusted or just stuck and some oil may help.

i would stick with 16:1 in that motor. i know.....todays tcw3 oils are far superior to 30wt motor oil from the 50's...yada yada. but why risk it for a few cents worth of oil. jmo
