johnson controls Identify for new shift and throttle cables

How do I identify which cable to order for johnson controls (Shipmaster) I suspect they are original for 59 glasspar with 35 hp johnson. The shift cable appears to have a bit of twist when you connect to gear shift and creeps back out of gear. I followed instructions for put in neutreul then hook up. Do they come in set lengths or can they be cut and adjusted?

They come in 1-foot increments. They cannot be cut. Being that old, you must have the type 400 cables. Available here at iboats.
