Johnson Electric start problem

Hello everyone! This is my first iBoat forum post!

I have a problem with my Johnson 25hp electric starter.
When I engage the starter, the gear comes upwards and runs, but it's scratching to the flywheels gear, it isn't holding!

I really don't know what the problem is, maybe anyone has an idea??
