johnson forward probleme

when i start the engine i have to push the remote controle very far for the prop. begin to run!<br /><br />the question i change the lower unit and i think they miss a litle bit oil on it do you thing this is the probleme???<br /><br />i verify the 2 wires go to the lower unit and everything is ok someone have ideal???<br /><br />my engine is johnson 1969 85hp

Hello sly......<br /><br />It kinda sounds like the shift switch in the control box is outta adjustment or lose. The switch has an arm with a roller on it that sets in a notch on the control. If the switch is lose, it may take a little more throw of the control handle to shift.

OBJ no i verify the shift switch and is very good do you think if they miss oil on the lower unit is the probleme/

Hey sly.....<br /><br />If a large portion of the gear lube was left out, it could affect the operation of the lower unit. Why not check it and be sure?<br /><br />The alternator or stator is under the flywheel.

thank obj i verify and ist ok but dont want to go fast i dont know why my other post tell you what i see and i dont know what to do im very frustated
