Johnson Impeller Help Needed

Hellow there...Please any body know the number of impellent part for this motor? Johnson 40hp, electric starter. I have been looking with Model 40EL74S, but found a different shape. Thank you Very very much.!!!

Sorry, Jimmbo the Part # 0386165, appear longer than mine. Mine is shorter and thicker. (Outboard Johnson 40hp, 1974, electric starter)

simental, I think the following is true--if not you can take me out and beat me with a wet noodle.:

The water pump design was changed in 1974.

Before 1974, the pump housing was 303831 and impeller was 378891 changed to 775521 (Sierra 18-3006)
1974-76, redesigned pump housing was 319155 and impeller is 386165 (no Sierra that I know of)

The pictures you see in the parts book are misleading. Nobody got around to re-drawing them.

i found a similar impeller, but for (Johnson Evinrude 40hp outboard motors from 1983-1986)...Is that possible for mine?... [h=1]Boat engine impeller 390286 0390286 18-3366 for Johnson Evinrude OMC BRP 40HP[/h] But not sure...What do you think?

I remove the impeller from de motor and they brought me a longer and thinner. And that marked for my model (40EL74S) , but it was different and returned it

No.....the 1983-86 is a totally different motor.

I guess it is possible you don't have the original gearcase. Take all the parts of the old pump with you to the dealer and let them figure out what you have/need

Yes okas...Thank you, i ll take de older impeller to the store, may be the dealer can find it physically. Dont have any old pump. But maybe isnt the original gearcase. Mine has a long shaft.
