Does this engine contain a carborator intake filter, it seems when we are driving it that dirt is getting sucked into the engine.

You should find a screen on the fuel pump under the cover and a screen at the bottom of the fuel tank on the pickup. No filter came with the motor, but you need one, preferably the water separator type.

You mean an air filter? No.

Why do you feel it is sucking up dirt? Are you kicking up a lot of dust from the lakes where you live? Or are you running it on a construction barge?

It is at high RPM's when the motor is running, seems like it is cutting in and out, maybe a misfire?????

You have tried a new set of spark plugs, right?
