I recently ordered shear pins for my 1967 Evinrude 3706 outboard 1967 3hp, they came and are the size 1/8 x 13/16" they look very small tiny compared to the pictures and diagrams that were showed, I think sellers just put up one standard shear pin picture in the listings also they all just give the item number or part number but not the size 1/8 x 13/16" or whatever the size is, these are S & J brand and have a different item number and part number than OMC but they are brass, I know I can take the whole prop assembly apart and check wanted to ask before I did that thank you

Re: Johnson JW-22 Evinrude 3706 Shear Pin

I wasn't able to find OMC 3hp pin size but similar motors use 5/32 X 13/16 to about 1 1/4" long.
Is your pin actually 1/8" or just look like 1/8"?Only 1/32 difference.

Thank you very much for replying, yes it is 1/8" I guess 5/32 would be just a little bit wider, I had never seen shear pins that small, I was told these were the right ones on two different sites, I can just take the prop off and look at the shear pin, there's a bit more to remove than my Johnson 5.5 or my Evinrude 18 I used to have, thank you
