a bit from thru prop exhaust. 1995 J50TLEOD 50 hp. Scared me when I noticed it. Oil is jet black and sorta thick. I immediately pulled LU fill and drain plugs and checked it. It was fine.. I had just put fresh lube in at the onset of freezing weather. The only thing I can *guess* is I've been using 2+4 carbon guard and a bit of Sea-Foam on each tank of fuel as maintenance after de-carb back in late summer/early fall and it has broken loose "gunk" in the exhaust system. Compression is 148 on both cylinder's. Any where else this could be coming from?

First thing I would ask myself is where COULD oil come from? Looks like you have a 2 cycle.....so.

Lower unit and fuel are the only places you put it in. You checked the LU. Has to be from the fuel.

Agree with of remnants of the decarb. Also, it's winter time and cold alum, partial combustion in cold combustion chambers and oil spell oily deposits, especially if you are a troller.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it and keep the SF in the gas. Over time it will clean out all those passageways and it will go away......did for me.
