Johnson Model Number HELP

I resently purchased a 14' boat that come with what I believe is a johnson 20hp outboard. The mounting bracket has been replaced with a Evinrude bracket, for unknown reason, so I have no idea what model it is. From what I can see, the serial # is J2826931. This is the number on the round plug under the hood. It has no Model number on the plug though. Can any one verify what the year, model number, and hp of my motor is by the Serial number.

I did alittle more checking and talked to a guy that thinks my motor is a 1967 28 hp. He said the earlier years only had a Model number. He claims the "J" is for Johnson, and the 28 is for the hp. the 931 indicates the year. Can anyone verify what he is saying? I would appreciate the help.
