Re: Johnson Motor Price
Selling or buying used motors is kinda like horse trading. There is no way a price can be estimated with the info you've given. From what I've seen, this forum is dedicated to makin stuff work. Here's a thought for you though; Find out what other like motors are goin for in your area, and make your price fit. Market is everything. Overprice, no sale. If you are really serious about gettin top dollar for your motor, do a 2 to 3 week study of your make and hp on ebay. Once you find the category of motor you want, start watching motors. Most auctions are over in no more than 7 days. After watching 10 or 15 sales, you'll have a feel for what buyers are looking for in your area. Shipping on a 100 lb plus motor is a real consideration. It may be too much hassle for ya. I don't know. But it is exactly what I did before I bought a used outboard. I studied Johnson 35hp outboards for weeks before I decided which one I wanted. Then I drove 250 miles each way to go get it. The kind of info you're lookin for is best derived from you own personal observation, that way it's purely your decision. Jeez, that sounded stern. I don't mean it to be. Just the nuts and bolts of it. KR
