First off, thanks guys for all the reply's. I took a look at the engine this afternoon when I got home and I have some numbers.
Model no. J150TL , I'm quessing it's a 150 horse maybe?
Serial no. J5700960 , Ya got me on that one, other than a serial number that's all I see.
Although the shift cable is not on the engine I put it in gear by hand and the prop wouldn't turn, so maybe the foot's OK, (turns freely in neutral). Haven't checked it over very much mainly because I just got it and haven't had time. I did turn the flywheel by hand and felt some really good resistance as the pistons came up so I hope the compresssion will be OK.
Thanks again for the reply's and I'll keep everyone posted after I find out what I have and get a service manual.
