I am located in Canada, having trouble fnding local places or within the country to sell parts. Tried a few, one told me my engine didnt exist. Anyway, I have a 1989 Johnson 110 hp 2 stroke Outboard, Model J110TLAEM

I would like a real manual, but need a impellor and water pump kit and maybe spark plugs etc , normal maintenance items. I saw them available from different sites in USA, but the duty shipping and taxes are adding up to twice the price of the parts so 3 - 4 times part prices to be delivered.

Any canadian boaters ordering parts here?

Thanks

I get my parts at Blue Sky Marine in New Hamburg west of Kitchener 1-877-740-2628 and I've dealt with Happy Days Boat Center in Windsor. Both are micro fiche equipped, not that you would need that for your motor. Anything pre-68 is on micro fiche.

As far as the manual, go to www.ebay.com Usually plenty to choose from there. Be sure to get a factory OEM Service manual.

Good luck

I bought my manual on evil bay used from a guy in BC. No probs and a big help. I'm near Hamilton and lots of BRP dealers around. My boat came from Don Hyde in Hagersville 20 some odd years ago and they are still around.

Re: Johnson Outboard Parts for Canadian boater?

Thanks for the help here.

I contacted a few, seems pricing is about 4 times higher than USA pricing. Example is: Impellor
$13. US plus duty and Shipping = $30.
and Canadian local marina wants $41.99 to $55.

Quite the hit when I want to order plugs, manual, water pump kit, impellors etc....

Anyone have better luck locally anywhere near Toronto or York region or within driving range ?

Thanks

You are comparing aftermarket prices to OEM prices. There are a couple online sources for aftermarket parts if that is what you desire.

Yes, the OEM stuff is much more expensive. Check your PM's.

Re: Johnson Outboard Parts for Canadian boater?

I dropped in on Durham Marine Service this evening. They are busy so the guy was open and working late. I saw a fair number of old Johnsons and Evinrudes. They carry BRP parts plus some old stock OMC stuff, plus Sierra stuff. The guy was familiar with the older motors. In the shop he was working on a ?71 9? and a bunch of old loopers. He indicated that he could support the old 1950s stuff through one way or another (BRP doesn?t really support that really old stuff but they are a lot better than Force?s Chrysler support).

Philthyphil, I remember going with dad to Don Hyde Marine in Hagersville back in 1974. They were an Evinrude/Glastron/Vanguard dealer, but dad picked up an excellent trade-in ?71 Johnson 25 horse long shaft rope start motor from them. He would still have it but it got stolen in ?91 and he bought a new ?92 Johnson 30 to replace it. I still have the brochures from the place. We would pass the place every time we headed out to Long Point from the Hamilton area via highway 6 south.

Hey Fromtoronto, I?m also in Toronto. I don?t know what it is but the dealers in Toronto seem to have evaporated. Durham Marine Service in Pickering on Brock Road south of the 401 looks very promising. I have bought some stuff from Central Marine in Markham at Woodbine, just north of #7 (they have been in business at least 50 years). They carry Johnson /Evinrude, Mercury plus a few Japanese makes.

Klaus Marine in Etobicoke specialises in old outboards. They have a good name and I believe someone there is a member of the Maple Leaf Chapter of the Antique Outboard Motor Club.

Thanks fr the help... I picked up new water pumps, tune up kits oils etc and redid it all I needed last week.. Git a seloc which I would not recommend to anyone. It covers so many different models and was useless to me.... I had a hell of a time trying to find how to disconnect the shift rod when trying to lower the lower unit... no where in the book did it show or mention a cotter pin and shaft setup inches away from the rod.... was lucky I found it...

Anyway, would love an orginal manual if I can find one somewhere.... will be watching ebay for it....

Anyway, cant wait to run this in water, did a test in big barrel and ran like a dream... telltale was powerfull stream, engine was nice and warm.
