Johnson QD-11 fuel line connecter

Fired up my new to me QD-11 tonight, only to have it run out of fuel. For some reason there's a blockage in the fuel connection at the motor. This uses the two line fuel hose, pumps up firm but won't push fuel past the connecter, lines from there to the carb are clear.
I removed the fuel connecter and can blow through it from the back just fine on both fuel and air lines. If I blow from the front, fine on the air barb, starts out OK on the fuel barb but then stops.
Assume there's some sort of check valve in the fuel barb, is there any way to pull these apart and check? The parts manual lists Part # 375589 for the barb, anyone have any idea where to find one?

Re: Johnson QD-11 fuel line connecter

There should be nothing in there except the plunger that goes up against the o-rings to shut off the flow when disconnected from the motor. It sounds like you have one of the real old ones with removeable hose barbs?? If so, you can remove the barb fitting and then use a punch to drive out the brass insert containing the o-ring and plunger & spring if you want to take a looksee.

The newer ones don't have removeable hose barb fittings.

The whole assembly is still available at a price that will knock your socks off.

Be sure the O rings have not deteriorated. I had something similar on my '56. Replaced the O rings and it cleared up. It seems that they crimble and block the small holes that the fule runs through. Rick
