Johnson RDE-19m 35 hpp

Hello,

just picked up a 50’s rde-19m Johnson for $40 off a neighbor on Middle Bass island, Ohio.

has been sitting for 30 years +\-. I know there are certain steps to take to “awake” this old girl. But, my question is...... this is set up as either an electric start or pull start. Do I need the power/switch cable hooked up in order to check spark and pull start only? (Didn’t come with the cable)

The magneto does not need 12 volts to produce spark.-----And after 30 years of sleep I would not even test for spark.----Flywheel needs to come off.-------Coils may be cracked.-------Needs new impeller and gear oil before launching on a boat.
