Johnson S/N help

This may be a dumb question but I aquired a 4cyl Johnson motor which was rebuilt, not sure what the year is because the plate is missing. Is there another way to figure out the year incase I need to buy parts for it, would it be stamped on the block somewhere? The motor itself is white (it was painted as it has blister with green under it, then the lower cowl is white and I see some blue inside.
