Hi Jennifer,<br /> The last year of the 10hp was 1963, so the year is a bit off. Not knowing exactly what year it is means a fair difference in how to remove the hood. The earlier verison has a large rear cover/latch with a button in the middle that releases the latch, which flops back and releases the hood. The later version (up to 1963) had a simpler arrangement with a single latch underneath the rear lip of the lower pan. Pull it downwards and the hood comes off. Early version had a large hole in the front of the cowling with the various knobs and such. The later version had a more streamlined top cowling with all knobs moved to the lower cowling....<br />- Scott
