I have a JOHNSON SEAHORSE 10HP CAN ANYBODY HELP ME FIND OUT WHAT YEAR THIS IS?? MODEL#QD 10 SERIAL#89205
I may need to take the carburetor of and clean it out so it will start. It has not been running for about 25 years. CAN ANYBODY HELP ME with the first steps that I should check before I dismantle the whole carburetor? I tried to remove the fuel filter glass and it will not drop off like I think it is to do? Is it dried on or is it to pop off?

QD 10 is a 1949-1950 10hp, parts are hard to find. the gasket on the glass bowl has probably welded itself to both pieces. AOMIC.com has good links on these motors.
