A FREIND OF MINE WANTS TO SELL ME THIS MOTOR FOR $75 AND IM NOT SURE ITS A DEAL OR NOT I DONT KNOW WHAT YEAR IT IS , IS IT WATER COOLED , WHAT THE HECK DO I HAVE HERE??? MOD# HD 25 , SER# 644770<br />BY THE WAY IT RUNS PRETTY GOOD BUT NEEDS SOME TLC.<br />INFO ON PARTS WOULD BE HELPFUL MAYBE A MANUAL TOO.<br />THANKS

If I remember correctly, the Johnson HD25 2.5hp was manufactured from approximately 1946 to 1951. They are two cylinder, water cooled direct drive (no F-N-R) motors. For the most part these motors had a good reputation for their reliability and simplicity. I'd say a running motor in reasonable shape is worth $75. Clean & set the points, clean the carb and change the plugs and you should be in good shape to go.<br /><br />I hope this helps.
