I have a Johnson Seahorse 35 outboard motor that is probably 35-40 years old. Does anyone have an idea of what it is worth, it most likely runs and is very nostalgic.

Ayuh,..... Most Likely, or not Hearin' it runnin',... $20. to $50....

I'm not sure what it's worth, but I'd sure like to pick one up someday as a gift for my Dad. He grew up skiing behind one of those and speaks very fondly of it. Evidently they ran it so much the lower unit actually broke loose and fell into the water one day. The mechanic said it was from metal fatigue believe it or not.

Just out of curiousity, where are you located?

value will also be determined by whether it can be worked on; that pot metal can crack and the bolts freeze. I had the family 1964 18HP but when the shifter broke, that was it, even though it ran well.

1970's motors are cheap, but parts are expensive.
