I just acquired a TD20 and am going to start my clean up and revival project. Does anyone have available an exploded view of the carburator? From what I see and what I have been reading here, it seems to be a unique set up. I would like to see what I am in for as I start to take it apart. Also with that serial number is it a '47?

That serial number was built in 1948

Thank you for the information. I will be starting the project tonight. I have seen a lot of postings talking about how to modify or make your own cork floats if needed. Is there any special kind of shelac that is used? Are people using an aerosol and spraying them, or dipping them?

Ok, I have the carb apart and soaking so it will be nice and clean. Needle and bowl look to be in good shape. Not really very dirty inside. My float however has seen much better days. Does anyone have the dimensions of the cork float? Is there a thread or sticky with instructions on making a replacement float? Has anyone experimented with using a more modern clip to hold the needle so you can avoid putting a screw in the float?

Progress is being made. I have fashioned my own float and sealed it, carb is clean and reassembled. I had no spark so I cleaned up the greasy points and gapped them to .020". Now I have nice white spark with a very audible snap. Tomorrow I will clean up the tank and petcock. With any luck it could be running tomorrow afternoon. This site has been a big help in advising me on what to look for and how to address any problems found. Thanks to all who have posted answers in past threads, it was great research information.
