I recently recived a Johnson Sea Horse when my grandfather passed away. ser#573185 mod#TD-20. I would like to know if there is a owner's manual and matance manual any where out there for this motor? I would also like to know if there is a way to tell the exact year of manufacture. I dont know if this makes it different from the others or if its normal, but my motor has 2 spark plugs, you can take the top spring loaded pull start off and under neath there is a pully for a manual rope pull.Email address or telaphone numbers will do fine with a contact name. parts, manuals, books containing info and pic's. Sorry one last thing this may sound goofy but is this a 2cyl.
Thankyou

Re: Johnson Ses Horse

Hi Stephen
The johnson TD20 was produced 1946 to 49. The ser# you gave determines that yours was produced in 1947. These are very common motors and many are still in use. You may be able to find some info at the public library. There is also lots of info on this board. Try the search funtion.

Stephen, Yes indeed your motor is a 2 cylinder.
As far as Original owners and service manuals
watch ebay.Originals appear at times. Also parts and parts motors.
Also, try www.kencook.com for reprints of original manuals.
While I havent seen one of these motors run in years I still remember how smooth and relatively guiet they were.
I have a pretty nice 47 in the cellar thats probably going to need coils.
