johnson starter troubles

ive been looking for a starter for my fd16a 18hp johnson seahorse i keep getting outbid on ebay at the last second. i found another but the bracket number is off by one number It is a prestlite # MDO3102M With bracket # 317628 off of a 1971 20hp all others ive found were #317328 all had a 3 instead of that 6. does anyone know if it will fit? thanx

I can't answer your question but if you have the old one, why not have it rebuilt at your local auto electric shop?

i dont have old one i am converting from pull start .
