Johnson steering question..........

I have a 1974 Johnson 50 that I pulled from an old tri-hull with single cable worm gear steering...... I am going to mount this motor on a 1959 Starcraft with the old cable/pulley steering...mounts on the Johnson are completely different....can this be done or do I have to convert to modern steering?

can be done,i had a 79 johnson hooked up to a pulley system on my 1964 boat.worked fine.
