Johnson Super Sea Horse - yr needed - HELP

I have a Johnson Super Sea Horse 60HP engine. Model No VXL 12R<br />Serial No B1802<br /><br />I need to know the year of manufacture and then a manual to help me maintain this engine. Can anyone help me with this??<br /><br />Many thanks<br />Jonny

Welcome to Iboats first though.<br /><br />Johnson VXL-12R<br />Year: 1966<br />HP: 60<br />WOT RPMS: 4500 (4000-5000)<br />Displacement: 70.7 cu.in. = 1158.6 ccm<br />Cylinder configuration: V-4<br />Weight: 225 lbs. = 102.1 Kg<br />Gearcase ratio: 20:23<br />Fuel/Oil mix: 50:1 87 (91 RON) octane gas to TCW-3 rated outboard oil. IE, 20ml per litre of gas.<br />Spark plugs: Champion J6C (was J6J) gapped at .030"<br />Picture<br />From the Old OMC Site <br /><br />Iboats sells an aftermarket service manual for your engine.
