I just got back from my mechanic today and he told me he wasn't going to waste his time with my engine because there is no ignition and there are many wires in which he had no idea where they went. He basically said if I can find a complete wiring harness that plugs directly into the engine, there might be some hope. As it stands, he nor any of his friends he called to look at the engine want to touch it. The engine is a Johnson Super Seahorse 80 h.p. Model # - V4AL-18C. Anybody have this???

You have a 1966 80hp engine. If you need the wiring information, you are probably going to have to get the factory manual. I don't know of any on line sites that supply the schematics for the engines. It seems your mechanic doesn't beleave in customer service, he should know where to get the manuals for your engine. Maybe he hasn't been in business long enough to know anything about those engines, I would look elsewhere for a mechanic.

Ditto about your mechanic. You could call CDI Electronics at 1-800-467-3371. They may be able to help on either a diagram or a harness.

Many public libraries have (or can get) Seloc or Clymer repair manuals. While these manuals are not a substitute for the Factory Service Manual, they do have some good info in them. They should have your wiring diagram. Or, you could search for the FSM for your model on ebay. You could then make your own harness since the diagrams give color and gauge of the wires. Not into all that? Then do as boobie says and call CDI.
