all you need is one silonoid i put two on mine though.you have 3 wires in the motor.black goes to the battery a blue and green i think.hook 1 of them to the battery if it goes up then hook that to on side of your silonoid and the battery to the orther big post.get a trim and tilt switch.i got mine from academy.hook the purple wire to a fused power source.the blue wire goes to up,or the s post on the sil.you can either do the same for the down,or hook the green wire from the switch directly to the orther wire on the pump.i would use two silonoids.remrmber to ground your silonoid or it wont work. hope this helps

the only thing a relay box is for is a newer type with only two wires comming out of the motor.i have the same setup on my motor solenoids work great.you need a momentary on/off/momentary on switch but like i said you can get a trim and tilt switch from most boat places(academy,west marine,or a dealer might have one)
