Johnson V4 85hp where is cyl #1?

I have a Johnson 85TL79R (85hp 1979 V4) and I want to check timing. I bought clymer guide and all the actions are done on cyl #1. which cylinder is #1??

Welcome!!<br /><br />Its the first one, right before the second one.<br /><br />Sorry, couldnt resist. Its the top cylinder which is the top starboard. Number 2 is the top cylinder on the port side, #3 is the bottom starboard and #4 is the bottom port. Looking at the motor from behind --<br /><br /> ....#1<br /> #2....<br /> ....#3<br /> #4....<br /><br />Hope that helps!
