johnson year and model ???

I bought a used Johnson 40hp but I'm not sure what year and mode it is ,because the Model and Serial number plate is gone.<br />The vendor told me that year was 1994 and the serial number on the powerhead is: G 03756362 <br />Any help on the year and model would be greatful.. Thank you in advance.

Look for a round plug about the size of a quarter on the block (called a freeze plug on auto motors). Sometime the model number is stamped there.

SoLitte, i found the plug on the block and the only number stamped there was G3756362
