Johnson Year Model

Added this to another post already running but decided it might get overlooked. Can anyone help me determine the year model on this Johnson 150. It's supposed to be a 93 but started bugging me when Seloc manual says it should be this way and it's something different.<br /><br />VJ150ELATR<br /><br />Thanks!

I've checked it and re-checked it. I had the cheat sheet that showed the codes so when I couldn't match it up I thought I had probably just mis-read. Unfortunately that's the number and as you posted there's no A in the code. Headed to garage and will check again with drop light and magnifying glass. Maybe my eyes are just getting old?

We'll my eyes probably are getting old but I checked it and had one of the kids read it too. It's VJ150ELATR. Just FYI the motor is a Silver Star series if that means anything to anyone.<br /><br />Anybody know if you can ask OMC directly by providing model and SN#?

150ELAT-150EXAT 150 hp 1993<br />1993 it is. :)

:p And Bear is correct, it's a 1993. I called up OMC tech support and they said the conversion is little different on this motor because it's a commercial model. Not sure what all is different on commercial, tech said it does have a heavier gear case but didn't know of anything else.
