Boy, a wire harness for something that old is gonna be a trick to find, it's not like a starter or some other part that wears.
try Ebay, they have suprised me before, you may find a complete engine for cheap and then you would have other spare parts to boot.
Or just your good "old fashion" web search, i'm sure there are a ton of salvage yards out there.
Good Luck.

Re: Johnson

try seawaymarine.com call tcoutboards.com and you may have to make your own, using bullet connectors, or if you have enough slack in control cable, clip the plug, and wire direct.

If you can't find a replacement harness, and if you are gooed with putting connectors on wires, try to find an extension cable and make your own harness. I did this with mine.

Re: Johnson

I appreciate the responses, and have tried the sites. No luck.

I am going to replace the wiring using new original connectors and be done with it.

I just got a new harness for a 1977 140 hp that was discontinued at the local dealer, they had a source for obsolete harnesses, they ordered it and it came in in about a week. It was about $15 more than the last listed price on the OEM harness but I had no choice. The complete engine harness came to $278.
