So the boat is a Stratos 279 F/S that we wakeboard behind. We cut off the VRO and now mix our gas in the tanks. Buddy's boat but we share the daily responsibilities when we go out. So he pulls open the empty tank from last week and I dump in the measured oil. We put in the plug and prep everything like normal. Drive to the gas station to fill the tank. I hear him drop a s#it. I didn't put the gas cap back on. We decide to drive 10 mins to autozone instead of 10 mins to go search the neighborhood. Autozone doesn't have any gas caps with that big of a diameter. So we drive 15 mins back to the neighborhood and just happen to see the cap in a turn by a stop sign. Slightly bent from a runover but still threads in. Awesome now we're only like an hour behind schedule. Drive 30 mins to the boat ramp, unhook straps, transom saver, I hop in truck while he starts to trim down motor. We get to the edge of the water and he tells me Woah. I stop and hear him say the words I never want to hear, "boat key's at home"
So we get his dad to go pick up the key and meet us half way between house and river and we joined two clubs at once. But at least I wasn't solely responsible for burning up our river time
