That's a tough question to respond to. Your skill level, ability of those in the boat, sea conditions, boat traffic, boat loading, boat etc all weigh heavily into the question. If I were to try, I would limit my excursion to the northern 1/2 of the inlet. The southern end of the inlet experiences "breakers" that appear randomly and therefore should be avoided. Heavy boat traffic definately affects the ride. I find the east side of the inlet the best.
Use caution, not bravado.
