Any thoughts on this one?

New fwd gear, pinion, clutch dog, detent balls/spring, seals.

Doesnt jump out as bad as it did, but still jumping gears. What else is there to fix?

1979 35hp evinrude long shaft remote.

Could the shift cable need adjustment? Shift handle and linkage inside motor worn?

Thanks!!!

With a new clutch dog, it should not jump out of gear. The cable adjustment is the likely cause. Cables do stretch a little over time.

When you say jumping out of gear, is it physically moving the gear selector? Are you sure the prop hub is not slipping?

Prop hub is not slipping, it thumps when the clutch dog slips.

It does not slip as bad as it did prior to installing all the new parts, however it still slips.
