Let's not forget that this is the anniversary of the Utah/Omaha beach (among others) invasion. D-Day was a huge turning point in WWII and the American and allied forces paid a significant price in the cost of human lives to change the tide of war.

These are our fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and friends. I lost my grandfather in January of this year (he was there) and I just wanted to remind everyone that if you still have a friend or relative that participated in this military action, pause for a moment and thank them for their sacrifices for freedom.

My son just graduated high school and will turn 18 very shortly. It really puts into perspective how exceptional these young men were and the sacrifices also made at home seeing the young sons and daughters off to unknown horrors. It pains me to think about the loss to all those families for a cause that was necessary and noble.

Indeed. How much blood has been shed on our behalf? God bless 'em all.

Have a friend who landed on Normandy 3 days later his war was over and sat the rest out as a pow he said he weighed 101 lbs when freed. He never bought a German car, a Japaneze car or any other product that could be bought with made in America plate on it. He is a good guy, but never wanted to hurt anything again in his whole life.
