Do members here have any suggestions on which boat cover material did not seem to hold up as advertised (or for the price)? The cover I need will be used in the cold midwest area. What material should I stay away from? thank you

I found that vinyl or pvc materials really are horrible in cold weather. I am in N.E.

I have had luck with heavy canvas and some rubberized canvas.

I have to second that. I had a grill cover that I assume was made out of vinyl or PVC and after one friggin' year it was all cracked and leaky.

My cover and most of the ones I make are made from "Top Gun" material. I live in michigan, holds up well to the cold in the winter and sun in the summer. If you're making it yourself, be careful as it will shrink just a bit along the seam you're sewing.

I used a heavy canvas cover on my bass boat when I lived up north and it worked just fine.
