Ok so I just realized that my Jupiter is not a '76, but (according to my ownership) it is a 1975...however while browsing around this great site I found the 'sticky' forum (http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=349830) with all of the brochures. Curious I had a look at 1975 and noticed that there is no Jupiter V in the brochure at all??? The closest looking boat is a 16' Holiday....and the next available brochure that has a jupiter is 1971...hmmmmmmmmm

So my question is, not only, what years were the Jupiter Models made but what year is my boat????

I went out to have a look and all it says on the manufacturers plate is that it is a Jupiter rated for max 85hp, 7 pers and 1500lbs....no years.

Any way to tell for sure??

Here she is in all her glory: http://s1121.photobucket.com/albums/l517/freedon/

hmmm... my serial is 976403? so maybe drop the 9 and get '76 or maybe '64...but the 1964 pics look quite different especially the windshield. And cant find a jupiter on the 74 or 76 brochure... hmmmm

hmmm that's a head scratcher. Definitely not a 60's model. Your serial probably doesn't contain the year.

It looks plenty like the '70 and '71 models. I sure wish we could complete our catalog collection.

ha ha...nice. '97 with a '77 evinrude!

Actually looks a lot like this fellas boat http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=473485&highlight=jupiter

His is a '69 but you can notice in some of his pics that along the side rail there is a small rectangular thingy that looks like a vent of sorts (http://forums.iboats.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=91703&d=1304037862). My boat doesn't have the little vent so I am thinking along the lines of ezmobee maybe 70 or 71 (possibly 72 or 73 if they were made that year)...

Been looking all over the internet for info on these old boats and every time I end up back on these forums :)

Re: Jupiter Model Years

The number you provided only has six digits, most Jupiter numbers have seven ( that I have seen ) all Jupiter numbers ( that I have seen) START with the year of the boat. The picture you provided is consistant with a 1969 Jupiter.

therefore I would have to say that the year of your boat is a 1969 and you are missing the first digit ( 6 ) in your HIN.

Re: Jupiter Model Years

That thing you think is a vent is actually a rubber pad with a trim piece, it is for stepping into the boat ( from the dock ) and onto the orginal back to back seats. your boat has been changed and the rubber pads were probably removed ( they get bad with age ) it looks likes someone added some non skid strips on your gunnals to take their place.

I bet if you look just to the rear of the windshield pillar on the sides, you will see evidence of four holes...

Re: Jupiter Model Years

Thanks N1265.

Double checked the little plate on my Jupiter and there is no sign of a seventh digit (pic: http://s1121.photobucket.com/albums/l517/freedon/?action=view&current=003.jpg) ...perhaps the ones that were being shipped to Canada had a change in serial to decipher between boats? Only thing I can think of...

But your logic is sound. From the few pics I have seen it could definitely be a '69.

...and what appears to be strips on my gunnals (good navy term...I need to expand my vocab) are actually the old location of the aluminum strips for the canopy. Last two owners didnt have the canopy so I ripped them off...now I just need to add some paint. I had a closer look and yup got four holes right where the rubber pad would have been.

Thank you!
