I have a SX-M outdrive. What could you do should you get done boating and the outdrive will not go back up? Obviously you can't trailer it or pull it out with outdrive stuck down. What would you have to do to manually raise it? Just curious in case this ever happened. Thanks

I'm not the experienced one here but I'm guessing you could try loosening the bleed screw on the pump to relieve the pressure and manually lifting the outdrive into the up position and secure with rope...would that work?

Thats a good question, not sure if it would or not. Hoping someone can verify what is best to do.

Unhook the trim rams from the drive and then tie up the drive with a rope or ratchet like Alaboat suggested.

Yup, that's exactly what I had to do with my MC-1 a week ago. Later, I found it to be just some debris stuck in the reverse lock-out micro-switch keeping the switch activated in all gear positions. Had I known, I wouldn't have pulled the rams (or damaged the prop pulling up the ramp). It was just a 10 second fix with a pocket screwdriver as a cleaning probe. - Grandad
