I have a Minkota Endura 50# thrust trolling motor, do I need 2 batteries for this motor or is 1 sufficient?

The 50#-thrust Endura I have is 12V, and I assume yours is also. Therefore, one battery is all you'll need, but you may want two for longer run time.

That depends. If you are questioning whether it is a 12 volt motor (requires one battery) or 24 volts (two batteries in series) then you will be pleased to know it is a 12 volt motor.
So for normal operation the motor runs on just one battery. However, if you are out for very long periods and troll at the higher speed settings a single battery may not last as long as you want. In that case, you can take another along. Just run one until it gives up then switch to the other. For trolling motors you need the largest deep cycle battery you have room for and your budget can stand.
