Well, today my wife took a vacation day from work, and well lets just say, I don't need to worry about taking a vacation day... AKA unemployed. We get to the local lake, launch goes well. I am heading out of the no wake zone and I see a sea ray, that just doesn't seem like he is going too far, so I keep going by him giving the wave. Well I go around, and around, and see him floating out there. So, I do what all good boating people do, and head over to see if they are good...they say "batteries died". I say, hey no problem, I got a jump pack on board, here you go. No luck, for what ever reason it won't start. I say, well would you like a tow in shore? He says thanks. We do it, and head back out for the day. Finally, we throw anchor, have a great lunch my wife packed for us, and I say time to fish a little. I am fishing with no luck, when my suntanning wife says let me show you how to do this...with no fishing permit mind you... but shhh, dont tell marine patrol... lol. And don't you no she catches a fish! So I say give me that rod you gave me good luck. Low and behold I catch a fish! Yes guys a different one. So onto my good day of bombing around, being the only boat on the lake, having a fun time. We start heading in to the no wake zone when my trim motor on my outdrive will not come up, just clicking. Ok, I say no problem, I got a hammer. I hit it like a starter on a car. Well, no luck there. After at least an hour of playing with it...this is after talking to my good marine mechanic we finally take the risk and head into shore, which has very shallow water (1.5-3ft tops) to hopefully do as little damage as possible, and try to bring up the trim manually. This is where we got lucky....we got the boat on the trailer without any damage, and even manage to tie up the motor for the way home. Unfortunately, the little lake we frequent seems to be cursed today, as we were heading out there were five people in a fishing boat....oaring back to shore!
