Just another prop question

This old boat, Maxum 19 foot with Mercury 115 will often times lug getting started. Sometimes it will run just fine then suddenly there is an increase in RPM but a loss of power. It then slows from running 20-27 mph to around 9 mph and won't come back up to speed. This is at WOT.
Turn it off and let it set while you fish awhile then it will crank up and run good again for awhile.
The increase in RPM makes me think it is a prop problem along with everything else that is wrong with it.
No, I don't know what the RPM is yet. Am getting a tach tomorrow at Bass Pro in Houston....I hope....
Oh, I think the prop says 17 on it if that helps your guessing.

could be the prop a spun hub,but sounds more like the motor, does any bells or whistles go off?almost sounds like its overheating or something,the setup and prop are last after we know the motor is healthy you should probably post up in the motor section and see what they think.JMO

Okay, thanks for the input. I will move it over there and see what they think. Oh, and I did get the tach today. Maybe get it installed tomorrow.

Good let us know whats going on then we maybe able to help after we know the motor is healthy and the tac is installed.
