Just bought a boat with 2001 or 2003 Suzuki DT225... What to look for???

Engine plate shows DT225 22501 - 371273

While on test drive in gear below 3000 rpm you can feel a sputter though out the boat. However if you give it more throttle it revs up nicely and runs smooth. The highest rpm we went was 4200 rpm but I wasn't driving and I wasn't asking him to push it all the way as we were on a narrow waterway. He said he had 120 psi on all 6 cylinders but I didn't verify when i was with him.

I am bringing the boat home tomorrow and I would like some ideas for things to look for.

My starting repairs are going to be...
Water pump
drain/replace lower unit fluid

Any other ideas?

I have been reading a lot about the #5 cylinder being improperly lubricated on these motors causing failure. I really loved the fact that my old Merc 1500 was just a plain old pre-mix motor so I never had to worry about oil injection pump failing. Do you think I should disconnect the oil injection system and just pre-mix?

If so then can you provide me with a step by step process for doing this correctly?
