Hi all,
I just bought a 1967 14' Starcraft Seasport with a 1973 40hp Johnson.
I've been reading the "What do I need to know" section and looking through various threads to try to soak up some knowledge. I also took the online boaters safety course. This is my first boat, but I grew up boating on Lake Huron.
My question is this.
The boat is super clean and doesn't look like a mess, the interior has been re carpeted and the seats look very well maintained. I paid $650 for the whole thing (including the trailer, extra gas tank, pfd's etc)
So did I get the "deal" I think I did? Similar boats in my area are selling for around $2000 and they look like a mess compared to this one.
Oh, and I'll have this boat on inland lakes, and plan on getting the motor looked at since I suspect it hasn't had any maintenance done on it in a while.
Any and all comments are very welcome.
