My first experience with the Cathedral Thunderbird was an I/O off Gulfport MS. during a bad squall. I was in a 13' open boat and we were on the leeward side of Cat Island. He offered me and my fishing partner refuge. He had the cuddy cabin and a canvas top with side curtains to keep the elements out.
Will never forget the boat or the experience. His boat was made for the locality, mine was not....course I didn't have the money at the time to buy one of those beautiful creatures.
The year was 1965-66. His boat was new within a year or two for a benchmark.
