I just bought an old Evinrude motor. I believe it is a sportwin. The Serial Number is 10024B 05738. Does anyone know any information about this motor such as the year, horsepower, oil/fuel mix, and where I can get a gas tank for it.

The connector for gas has 2 prongs. It looks like one prong is for fuel and the other holds the connection in place. Would I be able to buy this type of connection at any boat dealer, or is this something special I'm going to have to order? (I believe that this motor has a fuel pump, unlike my 1957 fleetwin that has no fuel pump.)

I checked the coils and they look new.

I'll also need an owner's manual and service manual. Any ideas on where I can get these?

10024 is a 10 hp from 1962 . Fuel line and tank can be found anywhere. Standard stuff. 24:1 gas/oil ratio.

Sorry, wrong oil info
1960-1964 JOHNSON/EVINRUDE/GALE - 18hp and up can run at 40:1, as they are mostly jeweled motors at this point. Anything smaller run it at 24:1.
Pre 1960 - any size, run it 24:1. If it's used for racing or high performance, double up the oil

ok, so from that info, I get that I have a 1962 Evinrude Sportwin 10 hp and I need to run it on a 24:1 mix.

What should the compression be?

80-100 psi is good, but don't worry too much about it as long as it is within 10% of each cylinder.
