I just picked up this 2002 Smoker Craft 8-18
It's been covered for 4 years. I cut the shrink wrap off it yesterday
Got a sweet deal for 2 reasons - it has no trailer and it only has a 9.9 Merc 4 stroke.
Got 2 gas tanks, anchor, bumpers and a bunch of vests!
Now to try and find a trailer (in New England :)

If the 'toon is going to be left in the water all season, a LOT of us just rent a trailer as needed.

Second vote for a little bigger motor. Doesn't need to be too big. 25 - 50hp is all you really need. 4 strokes are absolutely awesome for their reliability, outstanding fuel economy, and most of all, for how quiet they run. Power tilt can be pretty handy, especially when beaching frequently.

Congrats.. what you want to do with it determines what motor size you need. if you want to tube or ski.. your going to need the power,, Ive got a 115 on my 20ft Starcraft... and a 2.5 hp for putting around local hp restricted lakes. surprisingly the little 2.5 hp merc 4 stroke pushes me 4mph. the 115.. provides me tons of power...
