I know I wont get a true appraisal, I'm just lookin for a ballpark...

This is in Chicago.

Boat has seen water ONCE since I re-built it from the ground up. Not one inch was overlooked.. Completely dismantled and taken down to the aluminum, primmed, painted (4-5 coats). All wood is brand new. Floors removable for longtime storage. Although not picture, matching wood transom installed. Electric start Evenrude Big Twin (56 or 57) and controlls also included (yes, pressure tank too). Trailer is 100% rust free except for the minor surface rust on the wheel rims. God I'm proud of this!

www.jeffeaston.com/boat/boat.html

A little work on those rims and that would be one sharp looking rig. You should feel proud.

Re: Just curious...

I believe the Horsepower on the Big Twin is 30. I HATE to sell it, but I got relocated (job) to Los Angeles.. it's just sitting in my parents backyard in Chicago right now. It will never get any use. GAhh.... anyway, what would be the best season to put it up on ebay? Does anyone have ANY suggestion at what price I should try to get?

If its your pride and joy then don't sell. I'm sure they have lakes on the west coast. If you sell you'll regret it. If it a money issue then let dear ol dad look after it till you can retrieve it. Just my 2 cents worth.

A very nice job.
Price depends on what it is worth to you and the buyer. In central NY that rig with a working comeplete Bigtwin would be at least $2,000.If the boat was restored to factory original easily more.I have 56 Crestliner 17 ft utility in nice unrestored condition.I was offered $1,000 for the bare boat about 5 years ago.You see restored wooden boats with bigtwins selling for $3,000 to
$6,000 pretty regularly depending on quality and brand.

adam - Try looking at marine trader on-line or get a copy of boat trader if they have them in your area. Here they can be found in most convenience stores. Look for comparables or as close as you can come.

That is a sweet rig but I think you would be hard pressed to get over $1,000 here in Florida. Pricing is very location & season dependent.

Good luck.

Re: Just curious...

Look into how much it would cost to have it shipped. There are a few auto shippers that could handle that with no problem. Might be cost effective compared to the time & cost of restoring another.
